Teeth Whitening in Dubai
Professional in-clinic whitening with Dr. Rim Akrama, using the Flash whitening system.
Teeth whitening at Ibn Al Haitham Medical Centre
Professional teeth whitening lightens the natural shade of your teeth using whitening gels applied under dental supervision. At Ibn Al Haitham Medical Centre in Umm Hurrair, Dubai, whitening is done in the clinic by Dr. Rim Akrama, using the Flash whitening machine and equipment. We check your gums and any existing fillings, crowns and veneers first, so the result is even.
In-clinic whitening with the Flash system
Whitening at the clinic is done in the chair, in one appointment. Dr. Rim protects your gums and carries out the whitening with the Flash whitening machine and equipment, checking your teeth throughout the session. The clinic does not offer take-home whitening kits.
Who whitening suits
Whitening works best on natural teeth with yellow or brown discolouration from age, coffee, tea or smoking. It is not suitable for everyone:
- Fillings, crowns and veneers do not change colour, so they may need replacing to match
- Tooth decay or gum disease should be treated first
- Some types of discolouration, such as grey staining, respond less well
- Whitening is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding
What to expect
- Check-up. Your teeth, gums and existing restorations are checked, and your current shade is recorded.
- Cleaning if needed. Removing surface stain and tartar helps the gel work evenly.
- Whitening. An in-clinic session with Dr. Rim, using the Flash system.
- Review. The new shade is recorded and you get advice on keeping it.

Sensitivity and aftercare
Some patients feel temporary sensitivity during or after whitening, which usually settles within a few days. For the first 48 hours, avoid strongly coloured food and drink such as coffee, tea and red sauces. Results commonly last one to two years and fade gradually, and top-up treatment is straightforward.
Teeth whitening and insurance
Teeth whitening is a cosmetic treatment and is usually not covered by insurance plans. Our team can confirm this with your insurer. See the insurers we work with on our insurance page.
Questions patients ask
How long does whitening last?
Commonly one to two years, depending on diet, smoking and coffee or tea intake. Top-up treatment is straightforward.
Will whitening damage my enamel?

Do crowns and veneers whiten?

Is teeth whitening covered by insurance?
