Cosmetic Dentistry in Dubai

Veneers, bonding and smile design planned around your face and bite, so the result looks natural rather than obvious.

Cosmetic dentistry at Ibn Al Haitham Medical Centre

Cosmetic dentistry improves the shape, colour, size and alignment of your teeth. At Ibn Al Haitham Medical Centre in Umm Hurrair, Dubai, cosmetic treatment is planned by Dr. Rim Akrama, whose work focuses on cosmetic dentistry and implants, with experience in veneers and full smile-design cases.

Treatments we offer

  • Porcelain veneers: thin shells bonded to the front of the teeth to change their shape or colour or close small gaps. They usually involve removing a thin layer of enamel.
  • Composite bonding: tooth-coloured material shaped directly on the tooth to repair chips or close small gaps, often in one visit.
  • Tooth reshaping: small adjustments to the edges of teeth to even out the smile.
  • Teeth whitening: often done before veneers or bonding so new work matches the lighter shade. More about whitening.
  • Smile design: these treatments combined into one plan.

Veneers or bonding?

Veneers are more durable and resist staining better. Bonding is quicker, removes little or no enamel and is easy to repair, but it can chip or stain over time. The right choice depends on your teeth, your bite and what you want to change, and your dentist explains the options at the planning visit.

How smile design works

  1. Consultation. We discuss what you would like to change and examine your teeth, gums and bite.
  2. Planning. Shape and shade are agreed with you before any treatment, with whitening first if needed.
  3. Treatment. Bonding is often done in one visit. Veneers usually need a preparation visit and a later fitting appointment.
  4. Review. Your bite and the fit are checked, and you get care advice.

Questions patients ask

How long do veneers last?

With good hygiene and regular check-ups, porcelain veneers commonly last many years. Your dentist will discuss expected lifespan for your case at the planning visit.

Will my teeth look artificial?

Shape and shade are chosen with you before treatment. The aim is a balanced result that matches your face and your remaining teeth.

Is cosmetic treatment covered by insurance?

Purely aesthetic treatment is usually not covered. Where treatment is also restorative, our team can help you check what your plan allows.

Veneers or bonding: which suits me?

Veneers are more durable and resist staining; bonding is quicker, preserves enamel and is easy to repair. Your dentist recommends the better option after examining your teeth and bite.

How many visits do veneers take?

Usually a planning visit, a visit to prepare the teeth, and a later appointment to fit the veneers.
